We believe that central to the message of Jesus, is the idea that we are called to be a blessing to the world. We believe that this starts right in our own city. People in the Imago community serve the city of Peoria in lots of different ways, but here are a few things that happen on a regular basis and are great ways to get connected to the life of the church. Email info@imagodeichurch.org to find out more.
Sunday Breakfast
Every Sunday morning between 50-70 people, many of whom are homeless, are served a hot breakfast in Fernandes Hall before Sunday morning services. We already have an energetic team that prepares food, serves our guests, and shuttles them from shelters to the church and back. During the Christmas season we host a formal Christmas dinner complete with live music, centerpieces and great food! We’re always open to more people who would like to serve those that have the most need.
Heart of Peoria Neighborhood
We really feel like God has blessed us with a great building and so we want to turn around and use the building to be a blessing to others. Since moving to our location on Arcadia Avenue in October of 2010, we’ve been looking for opportunities to serve the neighborhood that we gather in. We threw a block party on Halloween and have been partnering with the neighborhood association to put on other events. This fall we’ll begin offering tutoring and other opportunities for kids in the neighborhood. If you’re around Imago in the coming months you’ll be hearing about ways you can jump in and join the action.
