University of Illinois
What do you do during the day?
I teach math at Morton High School.
What do you read?
There’s no rhyme or reason to what I read. I read a lot more online news and sports coverage than I do books. Lately, I’ve been working on What’s So Great About Christianity? by Dinesh D’Souza.
What have you been listening to recently?
The top 25 most played on my iPod includes Tobymac, Depeche Mode, Seal, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Oasis, Gwen Stefani. Apparently, I’m a just a sheep when it comes to music.
Biggest challenge?
Honestly, we’re given about 80 years or so here on earth, and lately I’m struggling with whether I’m focused enough on using that time to God’s glory.
Favorite Movie?
The Matrix
What are you passionate about now, that you didn’t even consider a few years ago?
My wife Katie. We got married in December, and I didn’t even know her a few years ago.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
That is an excellent question, and I’m still working on it. I do love working with kids, but I think God may have something else in mind for me at some point. I just don’t know what that is.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
I often find myself inspired by students that I teach and players that I coach. It’s amazing to watch kids surprise you with their achievements, whether their success is academic, athletic, or spiritual.
Favorite snack?
Popcorn
What do you love most about Imago?
I love walking into church each week and feeling like I’m a part of a growing family. I love seeing how God is changing peoples’ hearts as people grow in Christ. I love how God is taking those “inside changes” and directing us to make “outside changes,” as we endeavor to serve those most in need in Central Illinois.
