Advent 2018

Advent is a beautiful season of waiting and expectation. This year, we're inviting you to join us as we engage in a meaningful season as a church family. Check out the opportunities below to get involved.

Every Sunday, our 9am service will be a practice-based gathering through this season. We'll be experimenting with ways to connect with God and will send you with some practical ideas to try out throughout the week.

During our Adult Sunday School class, we will be offering a book club discussion on "Awaiting the Already" by Magrey R. Devega. Join us at 10:30am in the Parkview Room.

On December 9th, we'll wrap our Surround:FamilyCore Christmas Gifts together at our Wrapping Party. Join us at 11:15am in the Parkview Room. Bring a snack to share and help us spread love this season.

On December 15th, join us from 3-4:30pm for our Cookie & Cocoa Party! We’ll decorate cookies together and enjoy light snacks and hot cocoa. Enjoy our photo booth and make a Christmas craft to take home. Please RSVP to Christina.

For the last several years, we've joined in with the Advent Conspiracy. On December 23rd, there will be an opportunity to give as part of our commitment to "Give More," and "Love All." This special offering will be directed toward our ongoing ministry in Honduras and will be applied to the construction materials needed to build houses in "the Invasion," an area of extreme poverty outside Yamaranguila.

Also on December 23rd, we'll have our annual Genesis Christmas program during our service. The kids 3 years to 5th grade will share their songs with us and help us get into the Christmas spirit!

Special Services:

Our Longest Night Service (known in some traditions as "Blue Christmas") is held on the shortest day of the year. This is a chance, in the middle of a season full of joy and celebration, to acknowledge the grief and sorrow that are also present with many in our community. Join us on December 21 at 7pm. There will be childcare for small children.

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is open to everyone and begins at 4pm on Christmas Eve. There will be childcare for small children.
